Will The Tiger Be Coming Out Of The Woods

You can’t underestimate Tiger Woods focus regarding next month’s Ryder Cup, at Celtic Manor’s Wales when it’s clear he retains an “intimidation factor” despite his lack of success this year. Woods is still ranked as the No. 1 player and made it on the United States team defending the Ryder Cup, after receiving a wild card from Captain Corey Pavin, along with Stewart Cink, Zach Johnson and the 21-year-old Rickie Fowler . Woods has not won a tournament this year.

It presents the opportunity for Tiger to make the Ryder Cup the pinnacle of his year. After such a year he has to be in the mood to perform. Interestingly, Woods has been on the winning side only once at a Ryder Cup. This was eleven years ago in 1999, and has earned just 11 points from a possible 25 in five appearances. The 14-time major winner missed the U.S. victory over Europe in Valhalla in 2008 due to a knee injury.

Not many goals have been achieve this year for Woods and a solid performance at the Ryder Cup could provide a successful year.

The Ryder Cup is on the 1st to 3rd October at Celtic Manor, Wales. Europe Captain is Colin Montgomerie and his team are now gearing up for the Ryder cup.
